Websmith Group, a website solutions firm located in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a part-time ASP Developer for an immediate opening. The ASP Developer will maintain and enhance a legacy web application using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP Classic) and Microsoft SQL Server.  In addition to performing development tasks, you will need to be capable of developing solutions through active engagement with the client and end users, providing supporting documentation as needed. Experience working in a research or healthcare environment is desirable.

Requirements:

• Significant experience using Classic ASP
• Experience with web scripting languages (e.g., AJAX, VBScript, JavaScript, PHP, XML and JQuery)
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003
• Experience using Microsoft IIS 6.0
• Experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & 2005
• Experience using Visual Studio 2005
• Strong ability to develop test plans, test cases and test data. Ability to implement and support system testing to ensure that project requirements are met.

Desired, but not Required:

• Significant experience performing software development using VB.NET, ASP.NET and .NET frameworks
• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and 3-tier application architecture

Candidates must possess:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with a BA/BS degree in a Computer Science or IT related field.
• USA Citizenship Required.
• A time commitment of at least 15 hours per week
• A positive team attitude
• A desire to learn and grow as an aspiring professional
• Ability to stay on task independently to meet client expectations and project needs
• Strong attention to detail and solid communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to work locally in our Richmond, VA office (located on 3900 Westerre Parkway, Suite 300, Richmond, VA 23233).
